After a break of more than a month from flying, I took India Zulu for a short trip to Lydd. The flight, being only 30 minutes was convenient, as it didn’t cost too much yet gave me the opportunity to land-away. I’m not working at the moment, having become a full-time father – due to return to my job at the BBC in 2016.
I have to fly at least once a month really, to keep my skills fresh and ensure my private pilot licence remains valid.
There’s nothing really extraordinary about this flight, which departed from runway 21 in near perfect conditions. It was a standard arrival at Lydd’s runway 21, with nice views of the airport and Dungeness Nuclear Power Station on approach. The journey down saw good aerial views of Paddock Wood and Tenterden.
