New video: Helicopter flight over central London

In my latest video, viewer Jack Fox treats me to a tour of London in a Cabri G2 helicopter.  It beats the London Eye hands down!

I get a lot of emails and messages from viewers, offering me ideas, comments, and things to film.  Jack Fox, who flies from Elstree got in touch in October.

He wrote:

I’m sure you get messages like this a lot, and I’m not sure if you’ve done it before, but I was wondering whether you would be interested in taking a helicopter flight over London at some point this year? I’m currently doing my ATPL exams and a bit of hour building in the Cabri G2, so if you want to come up on a flight sometime then you’d be most welcome.

Well, it would have been rude not to accept Jack’s very tempting offer, so I flew over to Elstree to meet him.

The Cabri G2 is a small, modern, 2 seat, single engine piston helicopter.  We wear life vests in case of a failure over the River Thames.  We started our river tour at the Millenium Dome, and travelled past the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, turning back at Vauxhall Bridge.

The views were spectacular!

We were under a radar control service from Heathrow Radar, and it sounded on the frequency like we were the only ones in the area.

My thanks to Jack for the wonderful experience.  If you have any ideas for future videos, please do get in touch!
